Rick Juarez is a Managing Director at Nollenberger Capital Partners, Inc. Mr. Juarez brings over 16 years of technology finance, strategy and operations expertise to the firm.

Before joining NCPI, he was a Managing Director at the Stanford Group where he established and built the firm's San Francisco investment banking software and technology infrastructure practices. In 2001, he was a founding member of AlphaCap Ventures LLC, a merchant banking and strategic advisory firm. Before founding AlphaCap Ventures, Mr. Juarez was a Managing Director in the Infrastructure Software and Services practice at Robertson Stephens in San Francisco.

Mr. Juarez holds an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.

Gene Ramirez is a Managing Director at NCPI, bringing a strong combination of investment banking, operational, and strategic expertise to the firm, having advised a broad spectrum of emerging growth companies over the last 14 years. Before joining NCPI, Mr. Ramirez was a Director at the Stanford Group Company, where he co-founded the firm’s Technology Investment Banking franchise. Mr. Ramirez led the effort to close some of the most notable technology transactions at the firm. Previously, Mr. Ramirez held various management positions at Robertson Stephens & Co. in San Francisco, CA, and Southwest Securities in Dallas, TX. In addition, he has founded two enterprise software companies based in Austin, TX.

Mr. Ramirez holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics with a specialization in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin.

Kent Shimasaki is a Managing Director focusing on the technology sector. Previously he was a Managing Partner of Instream Partners, LLC, an investment banking firm located in Menlo Park California. When he joined the firm in 2003, he co-founded the firm’s technology investment banking practice where he completed numerous transactions including Silverback (sold to Brocade), Azanda (sold to Cortina), and Virtio (sold to Synopsys).

Prior to Instream, he was a Senior Director of Cadence Design Systems’ Strategic Business Development group and Director of Cadence Ventures, co-managing strategic venture investments in networking, wireless and telecom companies and digital media. He also held various technical management positions at Unisys and Boeing where he was involved in advanced semiconductor design. Earlier in his career, he founded Seattle Silicon, one of the leading Electronic Design Companies that developed some of the industry’s first commercial IC design tools.

Mr. Shimasaki graduated Magna Cum Laude from Arizona State University where he received his Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. He then went on to take very-large scale-integration (VLSI) courses at the University of Washington and the University of California, Los Angeles. Mr. Shimasaki has published many industry publications and earned several industry awards, including the 1993 Unisys Corporate Innovation Award for the multi-site development of software tools for high-end processor design.
